If it's empty, congratulations, at least there's nothing wrong on the surface。But what if there's LOS Alarm such a glaring word？Brothers, the key point comes
LOS Alarm = Missing signal on opposite end!
Quickly enter the interface view （for exampleinterface GigabitEthernet 0/0/1） ，Hit display this.
See if your hand slip or which configuration to shut down the port? If so, undo shut down and save it! A lot of times, it's such a simple and rough boot up problem!

This command is powerful , directly show you the optical module send （ TX ） and receive （ RX ） optical power value , also with a health range （ high / low threshold ） .That's the core of diagnosis
1. Current RX Power < Default RX Power Low Threshold：
Symptoms : The port is not UP , or UP but lost packets , the speed is slower than the speed of a snail .
Cause & Risk:
Is the distance beyond the scope? Your optical module is supposed to transmit 300 meters, but you pulled 500 meters of fiber? The gods can't save us!
Is the optical module hanging? The identity may have been killed.
Is the fiber / hop line broken? The bend is too large, the interface is dirty, and the fiber is broken, all of which can cause the signal to be severely decayed.
2. Current RX Power > Default RX Power High Threshold：
Symptoms : It looks like it can be used , but there is a hidden killer
Cause & Risk: Usually long-distance runners （long-distance modules） run short-distance （short-distance transmission） , the signal is too strong without attenuation。That's not a good thing!In the long run, it will dazzle and even burn out the receiver of the end-face module Quickly add a light decay on the light path （light attenuator） , reduce the signal strengthIt's a necessary investment to protect your equipment
3. Current TX Power < Default TX Power Low Threshold：
Symptoms : You send out the signal and it dies , causing the other side to receive low power , resulting in the same （ port is not UP / packet loss ） .
Cause & Risk: The probability is that the optical module itself is not good or has failed。Don't hesitate to call for support （contact technical support） or simply replace the module
4. Current TX Power > Default TX Power High Threshold：
Symptoms & Risks: Similar to the high power of receiving light, but much more harmful! You are like a laser gun, and you continue to bombard the opposite end, and there is a high probability that you will quickly burn the receiving unit of the opposite light module!
Reason : It can be determined that there is a fault inside the optical module .
Urgently remove the fiber optics at once! Then replace this optical module. Don't take a chance, this is protecting each other's devices!
Remember these two commands, brothers! After the port is plugged in, the fiber is good, and the link is up, be sure to use the verbose command to look at the optical power!
Don't let the signal be too weak to slow down your network speed, let alone let the signal become too strong to cause a tragic burning of the module! This is a basic skill and the key to saving mind, money, and time!

· Choose a reliable module:
Don't buy junk or refurbished goods on the cheap. Optical modules with stable performance, hard quality and good compatibility are the long-term solution, and the failure rate can be much lower!
· The operation should be professionally regulated:
Take and release gently, don't touch the gold finger, don'T fold the fiber, keep the interface clean. These details determine the lifespan of the module and your hair!
